Tribe of Trolls: Chapter 18

Love struck

Just as it was becoming more dark out they reached the village which Pacen paused, stopping as he looked. Was it a tribe or not? Amatria stopped and looked to him puzzled but can see the curiosity in his eye's. Their were round shape huts but built a little more sophisicatedly being alot were in different sizes. Stone walling and some were either two floors or some one floor. Some smaller others wider, tightly placed together palm leaf roofing. Their were torchs being lite around to provide light within the village, his ears twitching to the sounds of not troll as far as he can tell. The same language he heard Amatria speak in before she spoke common. Sniffing the air and the scents were not troll either except for the one that stood next to him. She giggled and tugged him and he moved with her to walk into the small village.

"Bala'dash!" Amatria called out, Pacen blinked. He reconizes that word anywhere! That was.....Thalassian! He only knew a few key words of the blood elves, no wonder he didn't recognize it. And just as he walked in he looked around to spot elves, not alot but a good handful as male and female dressed in garb made by hand. Looked very elven then tribal. They all stopped what they are doing to stare and Pacen noticing their eye's are not fel green, their eye's were blue. High elves. Confused, didn't at the time High elves hated trolls. Reading on the second war history the battle between them and the Amani. And how long have they been here? Maybe long enough that such hatred has been reduced, Amatria greeting them like they were family.

"Look! A troll like me!" Amatria yelled out excitedly. While he stood there he wasn't all to keen to how the high elves were looking to one another, speaking and either looking amazed or afraid. A few children as well, just a small group as they all stared. Pacen wasn't sure about this, he tugged her hand and looked to her. He just stuck with Zandali since she didn't understand any of the only languages he knew.

"I should go...I don't think they are welcoming to a stranger." His ears lowered a little giving a worried expression once more and stepping back. Amatria looking to him as he spoke, hearing the other language which sounded much more better to her ears. Though she liked the accent from the other, this other language he spoke more smoothly. She tugged on his hand to encourage him to not go anywhere. Looking to those staring as she spoke out.

"His name is Pacen and I just found him by the stream. He looks to be afraid of you all...so please treat him kindly. He doesn't mean any harm!" She had mistaken the look in his eye's of being afraid. When he wasn't afraid, he unable to express further he didn't want to cause trouble. She beamed a smile as everyone was looking to one another and back to the other troll that Amatria had found, slight discussions if their was more on the island. They were still uncertain but those around gave a smile to Amatria. Pacen quietly watching, just was not sure if this was a good idea, uncertainty was in the air. And before he can say anything she tugged once more, he followed while she lead him through the small village and to a big hut. A hut that looked more elaborate in decoration. She pushed open the crafted wooden door to bend a little low to get in. He did the same to step in and she closed the door behind him. Placing her hand on his back to softly pat.

"It's alright...your safe here." Pacen placed the bucket of water down off to the side since maybe this is where she was carrying the water too.

Pacen raised a brow to her before he looked around the interior of the hut, stair case that lead to upstairs. A kitchen area and living room area, fur stuffed made couch and a table with chairs.

"Are you hungry?" She asked, pulling his attention away from the elven decorations as their were some pictures on the wall. Most painted with floating blue crystals in some areas that provided light when it was dark. He stared to her once more. Amatria let out a breath before thinking on how to speak with him, cringing her nose and tapped her finger to her chin. "Oh! I know...are yooouuu.." She pointed at him. "Hungry?" Then moved the same hand that pointed to him to pretend she was eating and then rub her hand over her flat toned abdomen. "Mmmm mmm! Hhhuuunnngry?"

She tilted her head having her braids hang a little and smile upon her face. He watched that whole display while she spoke slower as if that was gonna make him understand better but seeing what she was doing got it across. He couldn't help but notice how cute it all was and how she held in question at the end with the head tilt. A sound from him by his graveled chuckle, with a smile. He gave a nod to her and caught on to one word.

"'un-garee." He repeated and just in que his stomach gurgled, blinking his eye's to look down and he almost forgot how hungry he is. He was fishing before she met this strange female troll and now it made some sense to how she is, still mysterious why high elves are on this island.

He would of expected trolls. His ears perked to the sound of her laughter, she enjoyed the sound of his chuckle. She hung to every sound he made and it intrigued her curiosity. And how his accent rolled out from his one first common word. She did a brief clap to him.

"Very good! If you catch on that quickly maybe we will be talking in no time!" While she spoke she tugged his hand to lead him to the table. He was watching her actions and listening to her tones, the only thing to at least try and figure out what she might be saying. But the more she did her quirky things the more adorable she was in his eye's. Lead to the table she pulled back the chair, holding it with both hands. She looked to him.

"Sit...I'll get you something to eat. Sounds like your stomach just may do all the talking then you." She giggled out. He looked to the chair and it's obvious she wanted him to sit so he did. She moved to the kitchen, started to hum once more that same melody. And within her happy mood she was moving a bit in a dance to getting him something to eat. When she stretched her hand out to a cupboard to get a plate, she leaned and lifted one leg to bend a knee and held with such poise to balance on one leg. Placing the plate on the counter and her leg placed down, a quick small twirl and she was off retrieving a meal.

And how he was leaning his cheek on his knuckles with his elbow prompt on the table, his eye lids half opened and had this love struck puppy look on his face. Loving the sound of her humming and just how she moved, reminded him of a deer. Moving delicately through a forest and taking utmost care to her steps. Suddenly catching himself that he is not just gawking at her. Shaking his head as he placed his hand on the table, brows furrow a moment with his eye's peeling off her slender form to look to table.

"Pacen...get a 'old of ya'self." He muttered in orcish lowly, still a chance that she is not available. And he only just met her! This is not the time to trip over himself for a female that he only just discovered and he not alone on this island after all. And at least he is not being speared or hunted down by unfriendly inhabitants on this island either!

He was so deep in his own thoughts to stop acting like an idiot that he almost missed her giggle and soon a plate placed before him, a round flat shape bread patty on the side. With a wooden bowl  that had stew inside and some exotic berries on the side as well. Soon a spoon was in his vision, few blinks and he looked up to her taking the spoon. He was so caught up with her he didn't even realize the scent of stew in the air. Her smile was all he was seeing right now and once more he hung on to her smile before she spoke out.

"Go on and eat...I'll get you something to drink." Soft nudge to his shoulder and she pointed to the stew. Walking off to go get him some water. He looked back to the stew in the bowl, lifting his eyes a moment to see the pot on the side with a fire going. A mud and stone made chimney. Ahh, so that explains the stew. Looking back to the stew he nearly forgot just how hungry he is and started digging in. Grabbing the flat bread to break a piece, dipped it into the stew and just ate on heartedly.

Amatria held the wooden cup in her hand, watching him eat. She had to stifle her giggle for this all blue troll was very interesting, he was nothing as she had been taught. That her people can be the savage sort, only taught so much of what they knew and so far this troll sitting here eating a meal at a table. Showed that not only is he friendly but he was far from being savage. She placed her hand to her mouth when she heard a small burp from him, biting her lip to stop from laughing.

Okay besides in need of some manners, being he lacked some table manners but she didn't mind. Walking up to him to place the cup on the table, she was going to speak when she heard her brother.

"Amatria?" Her blue eye's met with a high elf, he having black long hair and she looked to him as her brother.

"Renlas!" Pacen also stopped eating hearing the male voice call for Amatria. Looking over with his brows lifted and hearing her speak out in turn. Running over to him and she stood at least a foot taller then him, she gave him a hug and he smiled to her returning the hug. "You will not believe what I found! Another troll! And he certainly is not a savage as the books said, besides lacking some table manners he's very smart! And just look at him, he got the most expressive eye's I seen and not blood shot and angry." She pointed to Pacen as she spoke out a little to quickly for her brother to speak in any words. Having to wait and looked over to the other troll that sat in a chair eating. "His name is Pacen!"

It's obvious his sister is excited to have met one of her kind but he wasn't so sure on this. Smiling to her and looking back to Pacen. She always was a curious child when she was younger and those youthful qualities had not left her. But this other troll is very male and he wasn't sure if this all was going to turn out for the better for Amatria or not. As much as he and his father had said that one day perhaps she can be with her people, they really didn't foresee it to occur with being on an island for so many years. It's been so long since he roamed the lands of Azeroth Pacen just looked really foreign to him.

"I see dear sister Amatria." He answered finally and stepped toward Pacen. Regardless of the situation he couldn't denyher for her to discover who and what she is and new troll or not, this was a guest under his fathers roof. "A pleasure to meet you Pacen." He giving a smile and bow of his head.

Amatria quickly correcting her brother. "He doesn't understand brother!"

Pacen watching the male High elf, who was dressed in cloth pants and short sleeve shirt. Pair of leather boots and leather belt around his waist. His long black hair was kept loose and after his spoken words and heard his name, he just watched on and listened. He gave a nod to her brother, not sure if he was greeting or not but the motions definitely looked to be a greeting. Watching the interaction between the two he wasn't sure if he was family or husband, it held that family familiarity though.

"Oh. My apologies then. So I don't expect that he would understand Thalassian either?" Amatria moved to Pacen to usher him to eat on as she shook her head.

"No he does not...he spoke in this bizarre language. I think he knows two, one sounds different from the other." Pacen took another bite of stew from the spoon but his eye's kept on them, though he can listen he needed to see to watch their behavior. Try and gain some understanding as it's obvious her brother is here due to his arrival.

"Two you say?" Amatria nodded.

"Yes but it doesn't help that I can't talk to him and he cannot talk to me. Well...he seems to understand my movements or expressions sometimes. I think." She lifted her shoulders to shrug her hands holding the back of the chair that Pacen sat in. Renlas grabbed the next chair to sit in.

"Hmmm...I know one of the languages is what I remember being....Zandali. I wouldn't be surprise if he knew that but the other I'm not sure...he didn't speak any low common?"

She shook her head once more. "The only thing we got across to one another is our names. He understands that." She smiled, placing her hand on his loose wiry hair in a curious manner to feel against her fingers. Pacen blinked and looked upwards a little to just get a look to her kind smile, a tingle ran down his spine to her hair playing. And having to pull his eye's away to remember the other one is sitting right across from him. Looking to the male High elf. And still felt her fingers moving through his hair, made his right ear twitch on it's own. His two gold loop earrings clinked together. A stronger tingle sensation felt down his spine, starting to get goose bumps and heard her soft giggle, she removed her hand and he oh so regretting her doing so. But his eye's stayed focus on the High elf.

"Interesting." Is all her brother could say.

"Go on...try it. Introduce yourself..." She beamed another smile, lifting herself on the tips of her two toes before settling flat on her feet. Pacen looked back and forth between the two.

"Alright then..." Renlas cleared his voice. "Greetings Pacen, I am Renlas Boughstrider. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance." He gave another bow of his head. Pacen just blinked a few times not sure if he caught a name in all of that or not. Amatria laughed out and shook her head.

"No no no not like that Renlas!" Walking over to her brother with her smile. "Like this....that's just to many words." She looked to Pacen and placed a hand on her brothers head.

"Renlas." Pacen breathed in a breath with his lids lowered half way, why does he feel a little awkward. Like he was the child being taught all over again to identify or Amatria exploring and showing her new toy like it's show and tell. He wasn't sure what to think of it but being based down to just very little language and to simplify it for him. Was a little demeaning but he understands the reason, he just doesn't understand any words they spoke and it was a little frustrating not being able to communicate very well.

"He doesn't look so pleased all of a sudden." She batted at her brothers head.

"Shhh...just give him a moment." So once more she placed her hand on her brothers head. "Renlas."

His brows lifted a little and he better show he understands before this just gets anymore awkward. "Renlas." He repeated.

Her brother raised a brow. "I think he is only just repeating?"

Amatria shook her head. "No he is noooot, he's not a baby Renlas!" She shoved at her brother for second guessing what she knows. She looked back to Pacen and patted her brother on her head, who comically had a half eye'd expression of slight brotherly annoance.

"Must you keep patting me on the head?"

And soon Pacen nodded and pointed to her brother. "Renlas." Then placed his hand on his chest. "Pacen." And once more pointed to Renlas and spoke. "Renlas." And then pointed to Amatria. "Ama-tre-ah." Spoke a little better of her name but he was working on to get it across that he gets it! But he isn't some meandering imbecile either. Amatria laughed out delightedly.

"See! I told you!" She shoved at her brother once more before walking away into the kitchen.

Renlas sighed and nodded. "Yes I see...but I wonder is their more like him at our home?" He turned his head to watch his sister go fetch a bowl of stew and same set up for her brother.

Amatria squealed a moment and stopped what she was doing. "You really think so!?" N

ot the sort of reaction he was trying to get at with his sister. "I don't know Amatria...but I just wonder. He's the only one you saw?"

Pacen was a little wide eye'd and brow lifted to that whole squealing thing, it sort of penetrated his brain. Ow. Lifting a hand to rub the ear with a grunt, has sensitive hearing and this being closed spaced that did sting just a little. Hoping she doesn't do that again, little to high pitched for him. Renlas looked to Pacen for just a brief glance and back to Amatria as she arrived with a stew meal for Renlas.

"Yes...I was fetching a bucket of water. To bring to do some dishes when out of no where he showed up." She explained and moved to sit in a chair near by Pacen and Renlas. Pacen just went back to eating once more with his eye's ever watchful to the two. She laughed as she then spoke on further. "He startled me actually....all I know is I turn around and he comes tumbling out of one of those nasty thorn bushes that near the stream. Tangled almost head to toe in the vine branches and rolled out in front of me."

She laughed even more now that she thought about it. "Now that I think about it, I feel so bad for screaming and running off! He had alot of thorns stuck to him."

Pacen was really liking her laugh, it was light and carefree. Sounded almost like chimes in the wind or bells even. A sort of laugh that knew no hard ships, her whole behavior displayed this innocence about her. Renlas chuckled, eating the meal and listened to Amatria explain of Pacen's poor fate with the thorn bush.

"Which reminds me...I'm going to have to rebandage his hands and some spots the big thorns that were deep. I don't know what happened but he seems to have been having a hard time...his hands got some blisters and looks to be peeling a little. By the way where is father?" She got up from the table to head to the stairs. Renlas watched her as well as Pacen.

"Your not eating? And father is out meditating but I'm sure he will be back soon." She gave a nod to him before going upstairs.

"I ate before I left to get some water." And as tall as she is Pacen barely heard a foot step of her heading upstairs. Leaving him with all he can guess is family to Amatria, curious to how this all came to be of high elves taking care of a female troll.

Renlas looked to Pacen and held an expression of thought. Pacen ate the last piece of bread to finish the meal and he felt so much better with a full stomach. He didn't even hear her come back down as she placed thin roll of bandage on the table. He blinked and looked up to her. She also put down a small pouch that she pulled out a small bowl and pulled out some leaves to place in the bowl. Renlas can see Pacen meant no harm, their is alot of questions of how he got here and how long he has been here but its best to go and get their father so he knows of their new guests.

"I'll be back Amatria. Going to get father." Amatria looked to him and nodded. "Okay..but hurry back so you finish your stew!" She heard Renlas chuckle and he nodded before stepping out and closed the door. Pacen sat there with a questioning gaze. Amatria grabbed a chair near by to scoot closer and sat.

"Oh before I forget!" She looked to Pacen and saw his expression, she smiled. "Everything is alright now...going to fix your minor discomforts." Walking off she moved to get the bucket and carry it over to place near by, moving back into the kitchen to get a clean cloth rag and returned to him to sit down. "Okay now hold out your hand."

He stared at her in wonder, tilted his head with a long ear slanting in thought. Can he be anymore cute then he already is! She smiled all the more and shook her head giggling. "I'm sorry I forgot!" She placed the rag down, sure she can grab his wrist to show what she was asking for. But she took this time to teach a little more. Holding her hand up she pointed to it. "Hand...." Pointing to him. "I need your hand." He still looked at her a little confusingly and heard her speak a single common word. Seeing her point to her hand to show the meaning.

"'and.." He merely repeated and to her ears it sounded like he said and which got her to shake her head with her small moment of laughter. Reaching out she took hold his hand that was on the table, turning it so his palm faced up. He watched and felt how smooth her slender three fingers are and gentle her grip as well. His hand a little larger then her own and thicker. She placed her hand on his own.

"Hand." She spoke. His orange eye's lifted and looked to her, felt his heart beat skip a beat staring into her blue eye's. He almost forgot to even repeat as he spoke gently.

"'and." Amatria cringed her nose a little to how he did it again, that odd accent sounded to be in the way of pronouncing the H properly but she wasn't sure. Is their anything that this female doesn't do he doesn't find himself attracted too? She just smiled once more.

"I got alot of work cut out for me to teach you words and pronunciations. And you got the most marvelous orange eye's I ever seen." His brows lifted hearing her soft words and he couldn't stop staring. But his eye's blinked to see just a touch shade of red at her cheeks. Was she? Was she blushing? She went to unravel the bandages he had on his hand just to keep herself from blushing and Pacen was so glad cause the same affect occured to his own. His eye's lifted up to look up at the ceiling as if something is interesting up there. And just to get a grip over these heart skip emotions that keep panging in his chest. Next thing he knows he cringes as he let out a bit of a sound from his throat and looking quickly to his hand. She had the rag in her hand damp with water, trying to tentatively clean the open  cuts and raw skin. It burned.

"I'm sorry...don't mean to cause you discomfort but I need to clean this and rebandage. Your hand already looks a little swollen and irritated. I wonder what you were doing to have such minor wounds?" She looked to him in a glance and eye's looked back to cleaning.

He was clenching his jaw tight and keeping himself from flinching every time he felt the soft cool moist cloth dab on his hand. He should of realized his hands were becoming more sore then he expected. He just listened to the sound of her voice to distract him but after a while that stinging burn was dulling. The cloth stained in red by blood seeping from some cuts reopening. She then grabbed a leaf to smear a light green color looking paste onto the leaf by another bowl she had near by.

"This should help to ease you." She placed the leaf on and he squinted an eye expecting maybe more burning but upon contact. He let out a gravel sigh and slouching to the cool feeling, dulling out more of the pain. She smiled to see his reaction and continued to place the leaves with more of the herbal paste remedy.

"The paste and leaf work together, should help not only ease your discomfort but protect from getting infected." She turning his hand this way and that until she was done, soon to get the bandage roll to bandage a finger in different spots one higher and the other to wrap lower in his index finger. Soon to work on a little more to wrap across his palm and kept going till she had bandaged his hand properly to keep everything in place.

"Much better....next hand please." She swayed a little side to side delightedly and he only hearing one word to understand he chuckled once more and gave her his other hand. Once more she went back to work to clean and rebandage his other hand.

"Your the strangest female troll I ever met. Gaa--ahh!" He blinked as he was speaking in zandali and then felt the burn again. "And kind!" He managed to speak between clenched teeth, letting out a breath. Amatria looking to him hearing him speak and watching his expressions, she giggled and went back to work.

"Almost done...stop being such a baby it doesn't hurt that much." She gave a playful narrow of her eyes at the corner and looked back to his hand. From cleaning she went to putting the leaves on before she rebandaged. He sat back in the chair to sigh.

"I may not understand you but I know certain key expressions and it hurts! Not that I mind.." He trailed off in zandali once she finished. So long as she is the one tending to his hands it's all worth it. He was inspecting her a little more, taking in the scent of her that held a fragrance of flowers but a distinct flower. He couldn't put his finger on it but he knew the scent! And just the hint of water from her being near it.

"Okay now let me check the thorn one at your back. It was a nasty big thorn after all." She lifted her hand doing a twirling signal with her finger pointing down. He blinked in her direction giving a wonder expression. Her hands fell onto a shoulder of his to get him to turn. So he turned and had her back to him, turning his neck to look over his shoulder and once more lifting his brow. She leaned in to look to his lower back, some blood had clotted up to stop the bleeding but it bled enough that the back of his pants was stained in a single uneven line and bloch of it at the hem. He tried tilting his head further back to see what she was looking at. She lifted a hand to press to his cheek and have him face forward.

"Stop moving.." He looked back forward and brows curved, orange eyes to the corner with him left to wonder. And he wouldn't have to for long feeling the cloth rag on the spot that felt sore like a muscle ache. It didn't really hurt to much as she was wiping the trail of dry blood but once she got to the clotted spot as gentle as she was just dabbing, it reopened since it didn't get a chance to scab fully. He tensed to the feeling as she quickly pressed the cloth to the wound.

"Sorry, sorry!! I didn't mean to do that!" She got a little worried of her nursing skills here, she was causing him more discomfort then she wanted. He just turned his head to look to her her eye's meeting his. His eye's held such an expression, in silence he showed he was just fine and once more he looked ahead. She slowly removed the cloth to check and it stopped the bleeding but some was trickling a little. She quickly had two leaves held together to smear the paste and stuck it on the wound.

"There...I'm sorry for all of that. But...I feel better doing something about it." She patted his head, the leaves weren't going to move much from the spot being it's at his back. She got up to collect everything and headed her way up the stairs. "I'll be right back.." And up the steps she went.

Pacen sighed out heavily, passing a bandaged hand over his face while he spoke. "Ah got no idea what ta' make o'dis....'igh elves on a island. A she troll in dere care. Dis...dis is gonna be a long night. And dun even know what ah'm gettin' myself into." Leaning on his elbow and passing a hand through his hair as he waited for her return.

Amatria was beyond beautiful, she was breathtaking.
